The Atheneum is the cultural center of the University of Burgundy, located in the heart of the Dijon campus. It is a space of creation and research, diffusion, debate, experimentation and sensitization to art and culture. Strongly anchored around contemporary creation, it is one of the places of visibility of the professional or student creations and a working space for the artists who can develop projects with the teachers-researchers and the students
Dance and theater performances, exhibitions, concerts, symposiums, workshops, and a forum on scientific and technical culture punctuate each season. These proposals are as many discoveries for the students, the staff of the university and the public outside the campus.
Inaugurated in 1983, the Atheneum is one of the few university cultural centers to have a real facility consisting of a performance hall, two exhibition halls, a small theater, a café and offices that house a team of cultural professionals
The Atheneum is funded by the University of Burgundy and subsidized by the Ministry of Culture / Regional Direction of Cultural Affairs of Burgundy-Franche-Comté, the Regional Council of Burgundy-Franche-Comté, the city of Dijon and private partners.
