The Compagnie française du métal déployé was created in 1898 following the purchase of 4 Golding patents for the production of expanded metal.
Expanded metal is a thin sheet of metal that is pierced and then stretched to create a mesh. Expanded metal's first application was in construction (fences, floor and partition frames, etc.).
The company became Le Métal Déployé in 1902 following the voluntary liquidation of Compagnie française du métal déployé. Among the investors in this new company was Société métallurgique de Montbard.
Le Métal Déployé is now part of the Métal'Valley group.
