À propos
A place of worship steeped in history.
Built between 1753 and 1767 to replace the old church which was damaged during the 10 years war and demolished, the Saint-Pierre church impresses by its grandiose and majestic aspect. Two remarkable side altars catch the eye, one dedicated to Saint-Michel, patron saint of the parish, the other to Saint-Modeste, whose relics were once carried around the town. Repainted by Jean Le Moal, the interior of the building conceals a thousand and one details to which the discerning eye will be sensitive, in particular a plaque commemorating the 19 people guillotined during the Revolution and pious testimonies by Charles de Montalembert, Peer of France and bard of Catholic liberalism. Free visit all year round.
