Compagnie Adoc
In 2011, an actor, the son of a farmer, decided to create a play based on field research carried out amongst dozens of farmers in Belgium and France: ‘Feeding Humanity is a Profession’. Ten years on, the agricultural landscape has changed. The intensive or conventional model is still in place, but more and more people are choosing to return to the land and farm differently. To capture the reality as closely as possible, the company has taken to the road once more. This new play weaves together a mosaic of poignant testimonies, some of which are funny and deeply moving. It explores bankruptcies, loneliness, takeovers, career changes… as well as new forms of solidarity, agroecological experiments, and the struggles for healthier, fairer and more sustainable food. From these new encounters came *Nourrir l’Humanité – Act II*. Since 2025, the company has been presenting an enriched and updated version of the show, against a backdrop of agricultural protests.
