Le petit Polignois is a charming 35m2 F2 apartment on the first floor of a building in the center of Poligny, the capital of the Comté region. You'll find a fully-equipped kitchen (oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, Nespresso, kettle, 2-person Raclette machine) opening onto the dining area and living room. The living room has a 2-seater sofa, TV (amazon prime, molotof tv), high-speed fiber-optic internet, board games, magazines, books and local tourism literature. This town of just over 4,000 inhabitants is surrounded by the charm of the Jura vineyards and forests. The town is a local tourist and cultural center, with fifteen buildings protected as historic monuments and the Maison du Comté, a museum dedicated to the famous cheese. Poligny is considered the capital of Comté cheese, not least because it is home to a number of maturing cellars (JuraFlore, Monts et Terroirs, Fromageries Vagne, etc.) with a total of some 200,000 wheels of cheese, as well as a National Dairy School. The commune also produces Jura wines and, in 1997, was the first to host the Percée du Vin Jaune, which has become one of France's most important wine festivals. For nature lovers, there are forests, vineyards, waterfalls, lakes, caves and numerous hiking trails.
