À propos
The Archives départementales de la Nièvre invite you to discover their new exhibition entitled "Archives, weather and climate".
Through rainfall and temperature readings, as well as forecasts that appeared in the press, come and discover how meteorology gradually became part of the daily lives of the people of the Nièvre. But trying to forecast the weather in order to inform the public does not prevent extreme events; the exhibition then invites you to find the documents that help us understand how attempts were made to prevent or mitigate the consequences of a flood, a gale or an extreme frost. Witnesses to all these exceptional climatic events have left traces, in writing or in pictures, which are presented in the exhibition. The final part of the exhibition features panels explaining the impact of climate change in the Nièvre and possible solutions for mitigating the consequences.
Come and discover these sources, which tell the story of meteorology, climate and these hazards over the centuries in the Nièvre.
Open Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 12pm and 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
