Danser Brut + Danse-toi !

Whether you’re a die-hard video enthusiast or a dance fan, we invite you to an immersive film experience set in various schools. From Auxerre and elsewhere, in groups or solo, pupils show that dance is unrivalled in its ability to foster our sense of community…
Danser Brut and Danse-toi ! : the same verb as the central theme and two video works presented as a diptych. Facing Brano Gilan’s camera, which becomes a partner in the process, Julie Gouju invited pupils to let a ‘raw’ dance emerge in the moment – fleeting and explosive – resulting in captivating choreographic portraits. In contrast, *Danse-toi !* captures a joyful collective movement performed by pupils filmed within their schools. Here, dance surges like a wave of joy, making its way through different spaces and transforming them… A spotlight on a generation full of promise.
