Tribute to Michel del Castillo
Novelist and essayist Michel del Castillo died a year ago. A fine commentator on Colette, with clear-cut and sometimes divisive opinions, always expressed in sensitive and sumptuous prose, he was the author of a considerable body of work, nourished by the traumas of European history and haunted by the figure of his mother, both necessary and terrible.
To pay tribute to him, we are screening Serge Roullet's film Le Mur (1967), adapted from the work of Jean-Paul Sartre, in which Michel del Castillo plays one of the leading roles, followed by a discussion entitled "Michel del Castillo au cœur de l'existence" (Michel del Castillo at the heart of existence) in the company of three writers, friends and readers of his work: Michèle Gazier, Jean-Noël Pancrazi and Mercedes Deambrosis. Hosted by Christine Ferniot, the event will be interspersed with tributes from a range of literary figures.
At the end of the event, the authors will sign a selection of their works.
