Vallon de Moulin Mer

This small valley owes its name to a somewhat unusual mill whose paddles were driven by the movement of the tides. It was sheltered at the bottom of the vast Guilvinec estuary, a wide natural indentation whose valley extends far inland. The "Moulin-à-Mer" belonged to the seigneury of Guillaume Charles du Haffond, Count of Lestriagat, and was run by Hervé Nignon. Today, only a few stones remain, greened by sea moss and half-buried in the mud.
