À propos
T he SEW (pronounced "siou"), a new cultural center in Morlaix, is the flagship of the reconversion of the former Tobacco Factory and is already making all eyes turn towards it! Atypical and ambitious equipment, without equivalent in a city of similar size, it is the result of the union of La Salamandre (art cinema), Wart (contemporary music) and the Théâtre de l'Entresort, now the National Center for Adapted Creation (performing arts). Three Morlaix associations with a strong will to build together a real place of life, creation, diffusion and transmission.
Its 5,500 square meters, including an 800-seat auditorium, three rehearsal spaces for residencies and three movie theaters with incredible architecture, are designed to be as flexible as desired and open to all types of meetings and disciplines. This opening reflects the way it was built, entrusted to the architectural firm Construire, and conceived throughout in the form of a construction site accessible to the public.
A bar-restaurant and an annex of the Dialogues bookstore in the city center complete this decidedly plural cultural platform!
