À propos
The Ribadier System is a comedy by Georges Feydeau, a vaudeville playwright of the late 19th century. Under the guise of unexpected, sometimes grotesque situations—featuring archetypes such as the married couple, the mistress, the repressed lover, and the mistress’s husband— Feydeau’s writing holds up a magnifying glass to bourgeois behavior. These were the powerful figures of the late 19th century, wielders of influence and power.
With *Le système Ribadier*, director Antoine de la Roche sought to explore what still falls within the realm of humor and what no longer does. %AB We’ll laugh at the characters’ hysteria—both male and female—provoked by the script and the situations. But while humor is at play, just how far can we take the laughter? %BB
Running time: 2 hours – For ages 15 and up. A comedy in three acts, performed in prose.
By the Le Combat ordinaire Theater Company
