À propos
Don't hesitate to come and discover the rich heritage of the barracks! Overlooking the Old Monthermé, the fortified church of Monthermé was built in the 11th century and restored in the 15th. It possesses several remarkable interests including the baptismal font (probably from the abbey of Laval-Dieu), the pulpit, the Mosan-style portal and numerous superb murals dating from the 17th century. The recently renovated woodwork in the choir has been restored to its original colours. They highlight the beautiful marble altar from the 19th century in which the imposing lectern (eagle) has regained its place.
