À propos
The Saverne Botanical Garden, founded by pharmacist and botanist Émile Walter, is located halfway up the Col de Saverne, near the Saut du Rocher Prince Charles (D1004), at an altitude of 335 meters.
It is home to extensive plant collections—whose beauty and uniqueness are sure to captivate you—spanning 2.5 hectares in a magnificent clearing.
It contributes to sustainable tourism by promoting biodiversity, the preservation of plant species, and raising public awareness of the environment.
Set out to explore the “Alpinum,” a collection featuring various perennials and mountain plants, as well as lilies and irises, for example.
Then, in the lower part of the garden, let yourself be dazzled by the “Arboretum,” which features a wide variety of coniferousand deciduous trees on one hand, and shrubs and small trees on the other.
Be sure to stop by the “Tourbière,” where you can discover “Sarracenia,” a carnivorous plant, as well as various other plants native to aquatic environments.
Finally, familiarize yourself with various types of ferns, particularly those native to the Vosges, and numerous grasslands.
Guided tours and workshops are offered throughout the year.
Group visits to the Botanical Garden are available:
2.50 € per person (groups of 10 or more).
3.50 € per person (groups of 10 or more with a guide—by reservation).
