À propos
Built in 1518, the arsenal comprises three buildings.
Originally called Zeughaus, it wasn?t until 1785 that it was renamed Saint-Hilaire, following alterations carried out by the city?s artillery commander, Marc Gaspard Capriol de Saint-Hilaire.
The arsenal housed several thousand pioneering tools, lead, tar and ammunition.
The impressive roof structure, with three levels of attic space covered in tiled floor tiles, attests to the building?s storage function.
Visible from the outside only.
