À propos
This statue made of resin is a 12-metre high replica of the Statue of Liberty. It was sculpted as part of the commemoration of the centenary of the death of the artist Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904), a native of Colmar and creator of "Liberty enlightening the World".

A series of initiatives and activities, as well as numerous events have been programmed in Colmar on the anniversary of his death. Among these, the Municipality of Colmar has chosen to have this replica of the Statue of Liberty installed at the northern entrance to the city. It is intended to honour the most prestigious of Colmar's citizens and to pay tribute to the work of art which remains certainly the most famous in the world. This statue is also an additional link with the United States already symbolized, since 1986, by the signing of a twinning pact between Colmar and the university town of Princeton, located not far from New York.
