Danse : [Les 2010]

Choreographer Sylvain Groud, an artist affiliated with La Filature, Scène nationale, has wanted to dance “since adolescence.” As if that age were a territory. However, the stage is not a platform for him to show off. It is his place of truth. The performers began their adolescence in the midst of the great lockdown of 2020. Who are they today? Sylvain Groud brings to light what defines or drives them—their anger, their nonchalance, their exuberance, their hopes, and their fears. The scenes explore various configurations, from solo to group, and even to a pack. Beauty, brutality, and gentleness intertwine, for this piece—like a living organism—is permeated by tensions, impulses, and pulsations, agitation and hesitation. [Les 2010], navigating the tension between individuality and belonging, identity and social role, hold up a mirror to this era in which the personal and the political are one and the same vital struggle.

For ages 14 and up.
