À propos
The Baths of the Ill were built in 1886 in the river at the Brunstatt bridge. Coming from the Jura, the Ill enters the plain of Alsace at the Illberg hill and splits into several arms. At the beginning of the 20th century, there are three baths along the Ill, which constitute as many leisure places. The creation of these open-air public "swimming pools" preceded the creation of the first large swimming pool in Mulhouse, which opened in 1925 in rue P. et M. Curie. Not far from the Baths of the Ill, the German army installed military baths for the regiments garrisoned in Mulhouse.
