À propos
From July to September 1855, a cholera epidemic struck the village. It affected more than 800 people and was responsible for 299 deaths. The following year, the survivors joined together to erect a statue to Saint Gregory, who had spared them.
Represented as a 19th-century pope with a tiara and papal cross, Gregory the Great is particularly famous for having stopped the plague epidemic that raged in Rome in the 6th century.
