Around Place Emile-Mauguet, three half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries stand out, giving the town center an idea of what it once looked like.
At no. 17, the best-known and most picturesque house is the Parcollet, named after one of its former owners (15th century). For this reason, its facades and roof were listed as a Monument Historique by the Minister of Fine Arts, in a decree dated August 17, 1945.
At no. 4, the Maison de Rozières, named after its owner in 1571. Its facade and roof frame are made of chestnut wood, a species frequently used in the past for its ability to ward off spiders. On the façade, two salamander heads, the symbol of François 1er, adorn the ends of the sablière, the beam separating the first floor from the second floor.
The façade of no. 31 bears the name ?Charles François? who owned the house in 1591. According to tradition, it was here that Captain Lalande was killed by a cannonball on July 13 during the siege of 1544.
