À propos
The saffron farm is located in the commune of Hannonville sous les côtes, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine. The saffron comes from the pistil of the flower and it takes between 150 to 200 flowers to make 1 gram of dry saffron. Each flower comes from a bulb of crocus sativus.
This spice is characterized by its unique character since it comes from a flower, its culture requires a lot of time and patience and it is in autumn that it points its nose, every morning the magic operates and the flowers are taken out of the ground during the night.
Our saffron is totally natural, the cultivation is entirely manual and the harvest begins in autumn. Otherwise known as red gold and endowed with a very powerful colouring power, it will add colour and an incomparable taste to both savoury and sweet recipes.
Discover also the cider vinegar with saffron, the saffron syrup and many other products. Opening: the sale is made on request all year long (phone or mail) or at the shop at the Camping du Bois Joli from April 1st to September 15th by appointment.
