À propos
The national necropolis of Verdun "Glorieux" gathers the remains of soldiers who died for France during the fighting in the Verdun area in 1914-1918. Created in 1916, the cemetery was refurbished in 1967 to bring together the bodies of other combatants who had fallen in the Verdun area, particularly those exhumed in 1983 from the Fromereville cemetery. Covering an area of 20,579m2, the national necropolis houses more than 4,000 bodies of French and 2 British soldiers for the period 1914-1918.
