the work of sculptor Edme Bouchardon and foundryman A. Brochon, this monumental calvary is located on the heights of Remiremont, near the Promenade Charles David and the Champ Mars. Brochon, this monumental calvary is located on the heights of Remiremont, near the Charles David promenade and the Champ de Mars. Donated to the town by Charles Marie David (1780-1868), former Director General of Customs, State Councillor and benefactor to the hospital and the town, it depicts the Virgin Mary and Saint John surrounding Christ on the Cross on a granite step.

Erected in 1858 by the town with the agreement of one of its children, it was blessed by Monseigneur l'Évêque de Saint-Dié. Part of the inscription recounting Napoleon III's visit in 1856 was removed after 1872. The latter had climbed this site on July 6, 1856, to salute the sign of the Redemption.

Today, the site offers an exceptional view of Remiremont, ideal for photography. Close to the kiosk and the Promenade Charles David, it's a family-friendly stroll that's also suitable for baby carriages.
