Roches Margos

📍 Senones, Vosges · Route de la Forain, 88210 Senones
À propos
Located in the Vallée des Gouttes, these formations correspond to a pile of granitic rocks covering an area of around 40 ares, on a very steep slope. In July 1654, the flanks of the mountain are said to have partially collapsed, causing major flooding in what is now Senones and the surrounding area. The site was subsequently quarried.

According to local legend, a certain Margot lived in a hut on the site. One night, during a violent storm, he disappeared with his hut, buried under the rocks.

A Club Vosgien signposted trail leads to the site from the Senones tourist office.
