In 1626, Monseigneur Vanderburch, Archbishop of Cambrai, founded the Maison Sainte-Agnès to educate poor girls from Cambrai and Cateau-Cambrésis. Burnt down in 1918 and 1986, the building retains its original portal, sculpted by Jaspar Marsy. It is crowned by a pediment embellished with the founder's coat of arms.
