La Chambre des Charitables de Saint-Eloi

The Confrérie des Charitables de Saint-Eloi is one of the oldest confréries in France. It exists since 1188: two blacksmiths, Germon and Gauthier, met at the request of Saint-Eloi. The latter asked them to found a karity to assist the poor, care for the sick and bury the dead. To this day, the charities continue their actions. A chapel is located in the heart of the park of Quinty, halfway between Béthune and Beuvry, in homage to the meeting place.
