FIGARO DIVORCE by Ödön von Horvath
Figaro Divorce is the sequel to Beaumarchais' The Marriage of Figaro, written in 1936. The play imagines the hasty departure of Figaro, Susanna, Count and Countess Almaviva, forced to leave their country by a revolution that has turned the established order upside down - that of a noble elite that owns everything and refuses social justice.
Joaquim Pavy?s original composition, inspired by cult songs from the 80s that still play at our parties (I Will Survive, Sweet Dreams, Smalltown Boy?), accompanies the performers in a show that is as funny as it is tragic, telling an ironic tale of the world we live in.
