À propos
Sainte Marie Cathedral is Gothic in style, built on the site of a Romanesque cathedral that was destroyed by fire in 1258. It was built in stages between the mid-13th and 16th centuries. The spires were added in the 19th century in a major project by Boeswillwad, a disciple of Viollet Leduc, who gave the cathedral the slender appearance we know today. The ambulatory chapels are adorned with 14th-century paintings by Steinhel and stained glass windows in the Chartres style.
