Discover Besplas, the unsuspected land of lavender in Occitania! The noblest of lavenders has chosen the Aude to express all its fragrances? In Villasavary, fine lavender draws its strength from the Lauragais hills, perfuming the air with its floral fragrance, transformed into high-quality essential oil.
We are delighted to welcome you to our family estate. In a magnificent setting, you will discover the secrets of Lavender cultivation on our Besplas territory.
Right from the start of the visit, your 5 senses will be put to good use to discover all the benefits of this crop that has been renowned for thousands of years: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. We then take a look at the history of lavender, from ancient times to its current development throughout the Mediterranean basin.
As you approach the lavender fields, you'll learn about the main stages in the cultivation of organically grown lavender. Following this, you'll be able to observe 6 different varieties of lavender with different flowers, fragrances and properties on our collection plot.
We continue with the final stage of harvesting and distillation: from the harvester to the glass alembic, you'll be able to follow the extraction of the essential oil.
Finally, we'll introduce you to the various uses and virtues of lavender. And why not try out the benefits of lavender for yourself? Take a detour to the aromatherapy and organic cosmetics workshop to try out all our products!
From May 1 to September 30, visit every day from 10am to 11am.
