À propos
In May 1974, a rock with an Arabic inscription was discovered in the vicinity of the station. It is a voluminous granitic rock of about thirty tons. The Arabic inscription can be seen on two lines, which must have taken several hours of work with an appropriate tool.

During the 19th century, the station was regularly frequented by soldiers, including 1850 North Africans such as the survivors of the Alma. It is therefore likely that the engraver belonged to this category of people. The mention 144 recalls the 144th regiment of the territorial army which resided in Tarbes at the beginning of the Third Republic.
