Rome has left a deep imprint in Béziers. As evidenced by the 1st century amphitheatre, which can accommodate 15,000 spectators and was reopened in the Saint-Jacques district in 1992. A major restoration has enhanced the remaining elements (vomitories, bleachers, ambulatories, columns ...) and allowed to materialize on the ground, in the streets, the ancient hold of the building.
