À propos
The pre-Romanesque basilica (8th century, rebuilt from the 12th to 14th centuries), is built on the cave where the holy evangelizer, patron saint and first bishop of the city, Aphrodise, is buried. He came from Egypt on camelback to evangelize the city: the Roman governor had him beheaded. But Aphrodise got up and walked with his head under his arm to the cave where he is buried!
