Intended to monitor the Franco-Spanish border, Fort Lagarde overlooks the fortified town of Prats de Mollo. At the heart of the monument, a medieval signal tower dominates the keep, reinforced from 1686 by Vauban. A military escape route links the fort to the town, creating a remarkable architectural ensemble.
