À propos
The church of the Bernardines Monastery, a late 17th-century building with distinctive architecture and listed as a Historic Monument, houses the collections of the Museum of Sacred Art. Works of art, sculptures, paintings, textiles and gold and silverware dating from the 12th to the 20th century – exceptionally rich in terms of their state of preservation and originality – trace the evolution of religious practices over the centuries. The exhibition showcases the diversity of religious artefacts whilst providing insights into their iconography and functions. The collections also offer a glimpse into the daily lives of female communities belonging to various religious orders, notably the Cistercians and the Carmelites.
