A traveller, having journeyed across the world, returns to his village one fine evening. There, beneath the palaver tree, he discovers his grandfather’s chair and robe, still intact. He then pulls from his bag memories brimming with tales and stories of life, to be told in the village square, by the fireside, and to be shared with whoever is listening.
In this original tale, Gaëtan Noussouglo brings the Togolese and African worlds to life. Songs from afar that evoke love, outdated violence, conflicts, but also a love of good food. Two worlds – the Western and the African – intertwine in a playful, humorous and hilarious narrative.
