A Neanderthal hunting shelter was found in 1992 and has been the subject of archaeological research ever since. Numerous objects have been found: carved stone tools, bones of reindeer, horses, bison and mammoths (dated to 90,000 years before our era)
Today, the site is the property of the European Collectivity of Alsace.
The site is closed to the public except for scheduled summer visits and on Archaeology Day
