Écomusée d'Alsace
À propos
The Écomusée d'Alsace is an open-air museum that preserves, studies, and showcases an exceptional collection of buildings and artifacts that bear witness to rural life in Alsace from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. Comprising half-timbered houses, workshops, and buildings that have been moved and reassembled, this architectural collection is complemented by everyday objects, furniture, and tools related to craft and agricultural activities.

As a “Musée de France,” the Écomusée d’Alsace carries out missions of conservation, research, and education, notably through the demonstration of traditional techniques and craftsmanship. Located in Ungersheim, it is also part of a contemporary effort to reflect on the relationships between societies, regions, and the environment.
