Abbatiale Saint-Saulve

In 1111 a new abbey-church replaces a 10th century monastery founded by the Breton monks of Landevennec. Two major events shake its structure. In 1467 a natural disaster caused part of the building to collapse. A large and very expensive reconstruction campaign is started. As soon as it was raised, the church was set on fire by the troops of Charles V in 1537. The monks had its nave rebuilt but, due to lack of financial means, abandoned its transept, its choir and the high windows

Listed as a Historic Monument in 1910.
