Source de la Sarre Rouge

The Saar, a straight tributary of the Moselle, rises in the Vosges at the foot of the Donon at a height of 785 m. It is 246 kilometres long and flows through the French cities of Sarrebourg, Sarre-Union, Sarralbe and Sarreguemines, and in Germany through the cities of Saarbrücken, Völklingen, Saarland, Merzig and Saarburg. 500 m from the D44, a small brick pedestal frees the Red Saar Fountain, the official source of the Saarland.
