À propos
For some, the summer was spent by the sea, where the waves are a playground for board sports enthusiasts. If you want to keep it simple and enjoy the greatest freedom to play with the flowing elements, your body works perfectly well as a board of any kind. It’s all about the rhythm – the synchronisation between what’s coming at you and your own launch into the wave’s energy. Listen ‘with your whole being’ to La Femme’s 2013 single ‘Sur la planche’ and you’ll understand the sensations they’re after – always pushing the limits. Bodysurfing is sometimes what the artist tries to achieve out of the water in their work.
To magnify the few elements used and take pleasure in sharing them. The body offers various possibilities for becoming one with the other, in a spirit of exchange, forms and counter-forms.
Let yourself drift and find your wave through this small surge of works, some of which are quite contrasting in nature (ranging from minimalism to humour, via a more political or societal perspective, amongst others). Don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by emotions or passing fads, and always keep an eye on the horizon: The future must be dangerous 1. Never switch off your brain!
For this third instalment, following on from *No Limits* and *Borderline*, what if the exploration of boundaries were finally to claim its powerful freedom of expression, sometimes teetering on the brink of explosion! Limits are there for us to experiment with our bodies and our relationships with others, or quite simply to give meaning to a creation that will take a step forward or a step to the side. The brain is surely one of the most complex organs, still harbouring many mysteries, yet it is the seat of the orchestration of creation.
