Terre Noire

📍 Brest, Finistère · Le Stella / La Maison du Théâtre, 29200 Brest
À propos
Composed of a prologue and thirty-one very short scenes, performed out of chronological order, with leaps forward and flashbacks, Terre Noire presents itself as a puzzle, and it is you, the audience, who will put it together.

In the Transvaal, South Africa, a car pulls up at the edge of Hagos Nassor’s sugarcane field. A sales representative from Earth Corporation, Dalmar Khamisi, dangles the prospect of money—a lot of money—before him. Hagos eventually gives in. He dreams of miraculous harvests and a more comfortable life. But the reality turns out to be quite different… Director Gweltaz Chauviré tells us right away: for the play to be performed, a lottery must be held. What? we won’t reveal it, but if you’re a gambler, this thriller—unique at every performance—is for you.
