À propos
This imposing building was constructed in 1687 by the mayor of the village at the time. The stone first floor houses the cellar on one side and the stable on the other. The timber-framed second floor is decorated with two decorative motifs: a lozenge
and a double-crossed cross (also known as a Lorraine cross), a marriage of pagan and Christian symbols.
The "Stub" window has 3 casements and a carved wooden frame (Renaissance style). The year the house was built (1687) also appears in a central cartouche. The main room of the house, the "stub", or living room, had the right to the most beautiful window and the most beautiful place facing the street. Other half-timbered houses can be seen in the village, with door lintels generally dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.
