Docks

The Docks are the former warehouses of the shipowner Seegmuller, closed in 2000. The site was left abandoned and the city of Strasbourg decided to create a new area and to start important rehabilitation works. The Docks were inaugurated in September 2014. The old buildings were transformed into the André Malraux media library, a place dedicated to digital culture, the Shadok, and student housing. The two former cranes of the Seegmuller armament were dismantled and restored in 2008. They are now back in their original place and are the witnesses of the former port activity of the site.
