Palais épiscopal
À propos
Until 1265, the bishop's palace was located to the north of the cathedral. Preferring to keep his residence away from the chapter's growing land holdings, the bishop chose to settle between the cathedral's chevet and the eastern ramparts. Only two wings remain of the palace rebuilt in the mid-17th century (the date 1646 is visible on a cartouche). Destroyed during the French Revolution, most of the episcopal residence was replaced by a seminary in the 19th century. Today, it houses a school.
