An exhibition retraces the life and know-how of our valley; you will discover the origin of the little men with a special destiny: the Cagots, excluded from the so-called normal society. "To be born a cagot was to remain one for life. Pariahs among pariahs, the Cagots endured for centuries the contempt of the villagers. They were forbidden to live in the same neighbourhoods. To walk barefoot. To own cattle. To handle food. And in church, they could not enter by the same door as the faithful and had their own stoup, the priest handed them the host at the end of a stick.
