À propos
Created in 1998 and acclaimed worldwide, *Transfiguration* is a unique theatrical experience. Before our very eyes, visual artist Olivier de Sagazan sculpts his own body and brings his multiple identities to life. Dressed in a black costume, he covers his face with clay and paint, giving birth to fascinating hybrid creatures that straddle the line between human and animal. Inspired by Francis Bacon, Samuel Beckett, and Antonin Artaud, this powerful ritual challenges our certainties and explores, with rare intensity, the very strangeness of being in the world. Transfiguration, or the absolute art of metamorphosis.
Olivier de Sagazan was born in the Congo in 1959. After studying biology, he devoted himself to painting and sculpture. For more than twenty years, he has developed a hybrid practice that integrates painting, sculpture, and performance. His works are distributed and exhibited internationally. For several years, his performance work has served as the foundation for collaborations with numerous artists in the fields of film, fashion, and music, such as Ron Frick, Mylène Farmer, Mario Sorrenti, ? Adults and teens ages 15 and up.
